3 Cool Craft Beer Spots in London
Love craft beer? Hanging out in London? We have some great local craft beer spots you should be sure to visit!
Crate Brewery
This terrific brewery is in a great location along the water in the Hackney Wick neighborhood. Just a quick walk from the Hackney Wick Overground station, Crate is in a cool edgy neighborhood with lots of warehouses housing young businesses.
Crate regularly hosts tastings and tours of the brewery. The tastings are led by the friendly employees and you may even make buddies with some of your fellow tasters. The brewery also has their own historic boat which cruises London’s waterways while you enjoy beers on board during the summer months. Check their website for the latest schedules.
Be sure to try the woodfired pizzas at Crate as well. By the way, banana and dahl on a pizza may not sound delicious, but it is surprisingly good and pairs really well with beer.
BrewDog
The Scottish brewery BrewDog has several London locations where you can enjoy their brews and have some food too. Currently there are eight brewpub locations in London alone, including Shoreditch, Soho and Camden. Check their website for a map of all locations.
In addition to their own brews, the pubs also serve beers from some of the world’s best breweries including To Øl, Stone and Mikkeller.
The Craft Beer Co
A rapidly growing chain of beer pubs, The Craft Beer Co currently has five London locations and a few branches outside of The Big Smoke. The Craft Beer Co lives up to their name, with several taps for both keg and cask beers at each location. Traditional ale lovers can get their fill and if you are going for something new and creative you’ll find that too. The Craft Beer Co always has a nice selection of beers from around the UK, so this is a great place to taste local brews.
The Craft Beer Co also serves up hearty burgers to go along with your beers, so arrive hungry! Check their website for all the locations including Islington and Covent Garden.
Bonus location: Draughts
Does beer drinking get a little boring when you run out of conversation with your friends? Then head to Draughts in Hackney. Hidden in a tunnel under the railroad tracks, this pub rents out board games and has a decent craft beer selection as well from the likes of local brewers like Kernel and Crate. They have more than 600 games in stock so there are plenty to choose from. Check their website for more details!
