The guides cover such things as tasty breakfast spots, a place to go for your morning run, details about design or architecture and the best shops and galleries to visit. Of course the main tourist spots are mentioned, but the Monocle guides focus on the more unusual or interesting of them.

The Monocle Travel Guides are not written for the typical young partying backpacker or the person who just wants to check off the most popular tourist sights and move on to the next city on a whirlwind tour. This travel series goes more in depth, but gives you the tools to easily find the hidden gems without having to do a ton of research on your own.

The vibe of these guide are exactly what we are after when we go to a new city, and as a bonus you’ll feel cool pulling them out of your bag to plan your route for the day.

You can buy the guides in your local bookshop or online.
